In these scene Leo has gone to visit with Fra Umberto. Fra Umberto then takes Leo down to the basement of the monastery, to a private library where there are tons of books. Fra Umberto then explains how it is the best library ever because it has ever book possible. The only thing is that parts could be missing from the books. The pit would take the information and it would disappear forever but sometimes different ideas would be put back in its place.
Fra Umberto then explained that in order to go down in the pit to find Bri, Leo would have to look into a picture and stare. He told her that when she was feeling like she was about to fall to no resist and go with it. This was the only way to the bottom of the pit.
When they go to the bottom of the pit, there was a boatman in charge of a small boat. After a small discussion between Fra Umberto and the boatman, Leo came aboard. While on the river Leo looks over the side to see a young boy she recognized. It was a boy that would beg for money from her on her way to school. Leo gave the boy one day and was told to not do that anymore because beggars will continue to beg then. The boatman then hit the young boys head and he went back down under the water.
I feel that Leo can not escape the real world. Even in Apieron, the real world is with her. She carries the memories and life with her at all times. This scene shows me that Leo is a kind person and does look out for other people. Even though she might not come off like to that type of a person to others, she truly is a kind person. Leo does not care what others think of her because Leo only cares about what she thinks of herself.
There is a sense of delayed reaction when Leo gives the poor boy money because she feels like she did something noble. She feels that even the smallest amount of money can help out this poor boy but when she gets yelled at for giving money to a beggar the gratification disappears. It disappears just like how the young boy disappeared in the river after being hit over the head by the paddle from the boatman.

I feel that Leo can not escape the real world. Even in Apieron, the real world is with her. She carries the memories and life with her at all times. Matt great ideas on how Leo cannot “escape” the real world. can anyone really escape. you can obviously see the true feelings she has for her world and the way she does carry around the memories and that “life” with her at all times, makes you wonder is Apieron worth it, is it worth leaving the life you love and the memories you have to go. Matt great job blogging, you are such a great writer, keep up the good work and continue blogging, with your wonderful ideas

I agree with you that Leo can’t escape the real world. Even though she’s in a virtual reality, every obstacle she faces deals with the real world and she chooses her actions based on what she knows about each individual person.

I felt the same way as you did! Not matter what Leo cannot escape her real life. Even in the virtual world her past is carried with her. Good Job

you definitely bring up a good point, that as leo continues to travel through Apeiron, she is constantly faced with things from her real life. i think in a way it makes her journey harder, becuase she cannot escape aspects of her real life.

Intersting point, I never really thoiught about that, how Leo cant escape the real world it follows her everywhere even in Apeiron. In this world she is constantly filling herself of memories of her life and seeing people that are a part of her real life. Nobody really cant escape the real world even for as much time they may spend in game enviroment.
